Here are the Community Garden policies for those who reserve a plot at the River District Farm. Please read through the policies.

A. Only one plot per family. You agree to plant the garden plot by June 1, otherwise the plot will be forfeited. Plots will then be open to others, including those who have a current plot and request an additional plot(s).

B. You agree to maintain the designated plot and to keep plants within the assigned/designated area. If at any time the plot is not maintained, a representative from the farm will attempt to contact you using the information you provided. If the issue has not been remedied within 1 week of notification (unless other agreements have been made), the farm reserves the right to take possession of the garden plot.

C. You agree to commit 2 hours of volunteer time per month (either on the farm or adopting a farm task). For volunteer hours, gardeners can assist with the vegetable garden, flower garden, greenhouse, farm store, education events or marketing.

D. We encourage an organic gardening program. If fungicide or insecticide are required, please ensure they are organic and that you are following the directions on the label. We also want to ensure we are protecting our bees in the orchard by following those guidelines.

E. All garden tools provided by River District Farm must remain at the farm and should be returned to the tool shed when no longer in use. You are welcome to bring your own tools as well.

F. Any garbage or other debris should be removed immediately. Plant debris can go in the compost pile but any garbage should be taken home to be disposed of.

G. Garden plots will expire at the end of the season and may be renewed on a first come, first serve basis per season, though previous plot owners will be given priority. Once the season is complete (about mid-October), the plot must be cleaned out and left in the original condition. Renewal option is not guaranteed if plot is not left in the original condition received.
